Atal Tinkering Lab
Innovation and entrepreneurship have become an integral part of our nation, through which children are introduced to technology innovation by establishing Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) in schools. Atal Tinkering Lab is the flagship initiative of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), Government of India to cultivate an innovative mindset amongst high school students across the country.
2441 schools across the country have been selected to establish an Atal Tinkering Lab. ATL of Rathinam International Public School acts as a hub of innovation where the young minds of our children will accelerate their ideas to solve unique local problems.
Background
The Government of India has set up the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) at NITI Aayog. Realizing the need to create scientific temper and cultivate the spirit of curiosity and innovation among young minds, AIM proposes to support the establishment of a network of Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATL). ATL is a workspace where young minds can give shape to their ideas through hands-on do-it-yourself mode and learn innovation skills. The vision is to cultivate 1 million children in India as Neoteric Innovators.

The objective of this scheme is to foster curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing, etc. Young children will get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand what, how, and why aspects of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). ATL would contain educational and learn “do it yourself” kits and equipment on – science, electronics, robotics, open-source microcontroller boards, sensors, 3D printers, etc.
Modern Education
Modern education is mainly online. Online learning favors independent learning methods. Rathinam directs our Online learners to be self-directed towards achieving their academic goals and should be self-motivated. It mainly relies on the visual way of learning. Online education is student-centered. We mold our students to get more focused on the areas where they need to be improved and give them deep knowledge.
Yoga for Mental Health
TEACHING CHILDREN MINDFULNESS HOW DOES YOGA PROMOTE MINDFULNESS FOR CHILDREN? We implemented Yoga which helps to enhance flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness in children. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation also improve.
Dance Training
LEARNING THE ART OF DANCE… Dancing is a mix of art and exercise which connects the mind and body and makes one sharper and stronger. Adding dance to academics by Rathinam is not a diversion or disturbance but can actually make students better in life. Our dance programs induce children to various dance forms while allowing them to express themselves through creative movement.
Art Trainings
We clearly grabbed the essence of Arts that “Drawing makes children more expressive". We have been running through regular drawing classes by professional artists which stimulate children's skills.
Regular Field Trips
Regular field trips made them more engaged, intellectually curious, and interested in and out of school. This made students more confident and inspired them to reach outside their normal environment to learn and obtain skills that drag them to the next level.
Drama Coaching
Learning drama at school can be a positive and life-enhancing experience. Our drama coaching class enables creativity in young minds and it helps them in various ways like public speaking, body language, etc.,.
Music Classes
Music helps students to grow their self-esteem. It has major positive impacts on growth and development. We have internal music staff to train our students.
